Juan Emilio Cano Reveles, President 

Juan Emilio Cano Reveles is President, as well as an Associate Director and cofounder of Ecobanca A.C. He has helped the organization establish strong strategic alliances with the governmental, private, and civil sectors at both the national and international levels. 

Before joining Ecobanca, Juan Emilio Cano acted as General Director of Desarrollo Organizacional Sustentable S.A. de C.V. (DOS), a company dedicated to consulting on and developing eco-efficiency and environmental improvement projects. During his tenure there between 1998 and 2000, he consulted on projects for the Mexican Secretariat of Environment and the National Institute of Ecology, financed by the World Bank. He also headed several programs for civil associations and corporations across Mexico. He is now an Advisor to the DOS Board of Shareholders.  

Between 1995 and 1997, Juan Emilio Cano was manager of Latin American projects for BELL (Business, Environment, Learning, and Leadership), a program of the World Resources Institute in Washington D.C. 

From 1994 to 1996, he collaborated with the organization Second Nature in Boston, which was cofounded by John Kerry, a United States Senator for the State of Massachusetts. 

Juan Emilio Cano taught the Sustainable Development Workshop as a professor at the Ibero-American University School for Business Administration between 2001 and 2003, and he contributed to several environmental reports for Mexico’s Senate and for academic institutions in Mexico and the U.S.. He has a Master’s degree in the field of Environmental and Urban Policy and Planning from Tufts University in Boston, Massachusetts, and he has a degree in Public Accounting from the Ibero-American University.
